What are diphur.com ChangeUps exactly?
In its simplest form a ChangeUp is the difference in content that occurs every 30 minutes on the web-page your bookmark is referencing. We only monitor the content the human eye can see on the web-pageĀ so ads, images and linked content is ignored and will not be considered when performing a difference between checks.
Every 30 minutes diphur will fetch the web-page your bookmark is referencing and compare it to the saved copy of the web-page from the previous fetch. Any changes in content (text and hyperlinks) will be saved and presented to you as a ChangeUp. We save ONLY the content that has changed and nothing else so it is safe to say if no ChangeUps are occurring, the website is static.
A ChangeUp can be as small as one byte, for instance a number changing from “1” to a “6” or as large as the whole web-page, for instance a website going from “under construction” to fully published. These are from both ends of the spectrum as 98% of most ChangeUps are somewhere in the middle when comparing the size of the content change.
As you accumulate more and more bookmarks soon you have too many to keep track of and they also become static aka “bookmarked and long forgotten”. ChangeUps gives you the luxury of being reminded if content changes on any of your thousands of bookmarks and with our keywords, phrases and change ratio setting, you can dial in exactly what you want to be reminded of.
We welcome any questions or comments about ChangeUps!
